Foundation Grants The Theatre Lab School of the Dramatic Arts is a tax-exempt non-profit organization focused on arts, education and building strong community. We serve children, teens, adults and seniors living in the greater DC metropolitan area. The Theatre Lab is committed to increasing participation in the theatre arts and providing theatre education opportunities for all interested students, regardless of financial means. Our community is extremely diverse, including people from every corner of the globe; individuals and families of great wealth, as well as many who live in abject poverty. We believe that all individuals benefit from and deserve access to the arts. We also believe that involvement in the arts helps to build bonds of communication and understanding between diverse groups of people who would be unlikely to connect in other environments. In partnership with social service and educational institutions across the metropolitan area, we identify and provide opportunities to individuals who would greatly benefit from rigorous theatre training but who cannot afford to participate in a structured arts program without financial aid. As the largest theatre training organization in DC, The Theatre Lab School of the Dramatic Arts offers a core curriculum of more than forty courses. Youth programs include an after school drama program, summer acting camps and magic camps for kids, and summer acting institutes and musical theatre institutes for teens. Our award winning Life Stories Outreach programs serve seniors, incarcerated youth, people living with HIV/AIDS, and other disenfranchised and at-risk populations. We partner with many prominent arts organizations, non-profit outreach groups, schools and area social services agencies, all of whom help us to extend our reach and service in our community. The Theatre Lab is grateful to the following foundations who generously support our commitment and mission: Beech Street Foundation
